Abbaa Gadaa’s (democratically elected indigenous leaders) of Gujii Oromo people have invited Ahead to be presented at a spectacular event called Gumii Duddaa. The Gumii Duddaa ceremony is held as part of a series of events regarding power transfer from one part to another every eight years according to the Oromo socio-political traditions. Ahead is delighted to be invited to this prestigious and rare event. The Abbaa Gadaas offered for an Ahead’s representative to give a keynote speech at the ceremony. We’ll report on Ahead’s participation in this important event later on.
